Self-Hypnosis For The Birthday Wish
Greetings from Doc Judie
Most people start their New Years resolution on the 1st of January, turning over a new leaf with the click of the calender clock announcing a new year. It is a little different, for me I set a goal list on my birthday. From all the self help guru's that I listen to, I have taken the best ideas from Quantum Physics, the works of John Assaraf, and Peggy McColt. They are pop culture self motivators and they definitely have their viewpoints; but I have my own custom version, and I hope you have yours. As I am in my sixties, I have lived more years than I have left, the remaining time has my attention. I know that through quantum physics, the "universe" is neutral, it really does not care if I live or die, if I have a good life or not. What the universe does provide is a type of energy that I can tap into and have a predictable outcome. If I follow certain rules of logic and order in my life the chances are increased that I will have a healthier, more productive life. Assarat theorizes that the reason people fail at the "motivation list" is they don't stick to a, firm time table of 30 days. The time table cannot be broken for change to take place. Here is how it works: 1) Think of the changes that you want in your life. put a lot of effort and deep thinking into this as it is more than a wish list, you must see it as a positive change that will happen.
2) According to McColt, the list must be written and posted for view-mine is on the refrigerator and on my computer calender. It is viewed at least three times a day. The change must be seen as a work in progress, that it is happening right now. My version is that a working of action has to be written on how the changes will take place, I have to be motivated and willing to do the steps for the change to happen. McColt claims not to care on how it will happen, but I think subconsciously, she does have a plan.
Most of us have gone this far, but here is the interesting twist that I actually do with my clients with addictions, but I have not applied it to myself:
3) The new action must be in play for 30 days without a break. There is no such thing as "a slip" on day 26 and oh well, I'll forgive myself and get back on track attitude. If the change order is broken before the 30 days, you must start all over!!!
Self-Hypnosis script
I am going out on a limb here, but in the spirit of true committment, I will give you my self-hypnosis script for my 30 day change starting March lst and I will give you the final report in 30 days. Make your own list and do it with me, I would love to hear how you are doing on your list. I use my script twice, once when I get up in the morning and once before bedtime.. It sets the tone,
I clear my mind with deep breathing. The count is 3 inhale through the nose; hold for the count of 4, and exhale slowly through the mouth for the count of 7. This is repeated 10 times.
I see myself relaxing, the energy from my breathing continues to move slowly through my body starting at the top of my head, working through the muscles in my face, down the front of my body and down my spine. I feel warm gentle healing energy relaxing me, clearing me as it travels through my heart and my lungs. The warm relaxed energy increases and travels down my legs into my feet I am relaxed, open for my mind to receive new information. ( I can do this very quickly because of years of practice, but take as much time as you need.) In the evening, I often use soft music in the background, but not in the morning.)
I see myself changing in three areas, my health, my exercise routine, and my career. i see a change that is right for me. I see my blood pressure in a normal range and everything in my body working well. I walk 3-5 miles a day, swim, or work out every day and I see 10 lbs that are so easy to lose shedding off my body. I no longer desire any white flour products, or anything with sugar in it. My diet is composed of fresh vegetables, fruit, chicken or fish and 8 glasses of water. I will pass a test that will open new opportunities for me. My income will increase to double what it was the month before, and my website will double in customers who viewed it (now you can definitely help me with this one, please tell a friend to view my site!) I see everything on my list as happening. I am committing today and I will commit every day to keep my list in tack for 30 days, i have given my word and sacred pledge to bring my ideas to reality.
I now drift off to sleep and these new changes will work in my subconscious as I sleep. or morning I am awake, ready for the new day and all of the changes that are now in my life.
Here is to my Happy Birthday wish list and to yours whenever you want to start it.

Increase learning through hypnosis
This title may be deceiving, it sounds like "how to pass a test," but instead it addresses a human strength called the Love of Learning.
It is part of your human evolution to want to discover, learn something new, be curious,or master a task. Learning is usually a positive experience for most people. It is what people do when they want to bring more happiness into their lives. Learning is living.
There are people who are not motivated, they don't have an interest in the world, in events, in sports and if their condition is severe enough and has lasted for over six months, it is usually connected with depression, a traumatic event, a neurological impairment, or a substance induced state.
Love of learning does not mean you have to find a cure for heart disease, HIV, or cancer (but it would be nice!) You can be just as excited about cooking a new dish, lifting weights, painting a picture, working a crossword puzzle, or exploring a new trail.
So how does hypnotherapy help someone who is not motivated to learn anything new? First, rule out any medical or psychological neuroses that are better served through psychiatry or a medical expert. For most people, it is a area where "they only think" they are not interested, scared to take a chance on anything new. They may be afraid they will not succeed or they will not be good at a new challenge. It goes back to the subconscious. Maybe an adult does not like to hike or explore because he could not keep up with his teasing brothers when he was younger. Maybe his parents pushed him too hard to excel in sports instead of just enjoying the sport.Maybe a student was made to feel stupid when he could not do a math equation on a blackboard and so he lost all interest in math.
I fell into the last group, it was long ago when Catholic nuns were allowed to crack your knuckles with a ruler if you didn't know your time tables. I was so fearful that I could not say the answers. I was convinced that I would never be able to do math and could never get through college courses where math was taught. The thought of learning anything about statistics for my Psychology degree was "out of my reach" for a long time. Then one day I realized, it was holding me back for something that I really wanted to do...How bad did I want it? What was I willing to do to get through it? I had the fortune of a brilliant teacher and now a life time friend who made statistics fun and taught me how to reframe from seeing numbers to people or things. We formed a M&M company to see if certain colors were always in each package-I didn't see numbers, I saw M&M's (even if I skewed the results by eating too many of the brown ones!)
I studied successful Realtors from 65 to 92 years of age and charted their strengths to see what made them successful. I did not see a graft but people who had passion against all odds; they did not think they were old, and they all had a love of learning new things at any age. My favorite was an 80 year old Realtor who made it a point to learn something new each birthday. It ranged from taking a cruise, learning a new dance, scuba diving and sky diving!
How does hypnosis motivate someone to want to learn? It can't do that without the participant wanting to change as badly as I did. Then it is a matter of reframing the situation through a script. Once the mind sees the benefits from the outcome, it goes forward in a new direction and change takes place.
I remember a young man who wanted to be a fire fighter, but could not pass the oral interview even though he knew the information. so I gave him a script of fighting a fire. It was new territory, and the outcome and success of the mission dependied on his learning about the dangerous environment. There were no teachers there, no guarantee on how the wind was going to blow, or which trees had to come down. He had to pick up new information quickly and make a choice. The script had him focusing on each component of the fire, how he would communicate with his team, and how quickly he could pick up new information on the spot and give it his full attention. He found this challenging but exhilarating and satisfying. When he heard the questions from the qualifying board, he only thought of that fire and how each question was actually a piece of information that would help him put the fire out and render the area safe. There were several parts to the on-gong detailed questions, but as long as he saw himself fighting a forest fire and not a board of superiors, he could answer the question. It was a matter of reframing. Try it for yourself, get comfortable, breath deeply, relax and come up with a script for yourself ( when something is holding your back), just reframe it and see the outcome.
In the meantime, go learn something new, it does not matter what it is, just enjoy yourself. (I'm thinking of the wine country and mudbaths!)
