Beautiful body at 65 through hypnosis and amino acids

Judie Brierly - Wednesday, August 03, 2011

Greetings from Doc Judie
Beautiful Body at 65 through hypnosis and amino acids
Met Helen Mirren age 65, actress, and recent nor of the "best bikini body...beating out Jennifer Lopez!!!  Helen is 65 years old and an inspiration to women of all ages.Now granted, she is a timeless British actress who takes her physical health serious and works out in the gym every day, but this is about her timeless spirit and how we all have a little Helen Mirren in us.  I am putting this picture up on my refrigerator; I have two years and at 70, I will send out my birthday announcement in a bikini as well!!!  i work with women in their late 40's 50's, 60's and 70's that have lost weight, built up bodies, and have amazing strength at any age.  Here is the formula.
l. My clients have to have motivation to lose weight, tone up, change eating habits and stick to a three month regime.  2. They commit to a weekly session and monthly group session.  During the first meeting, a physical chart is created noting what they eat, how do they exercise, what is their energy level, and sleep level.  3 They design their own "realistic plan" which must take into consideration any medical or physical limitations. 4. The exercise program is designed around their ability and choices are offered.  In my area, there are many year around pools open for swimming and water aerobics. There are hiking trails, gyms, yoga, pilates and weight lifting opportunities.  5. Their food intake is analyzed and regardless of how they wish to cut down on their calories, sugar and white flour products are eliminated or cut down. Their diet consists of protein (vegans can substitute) vegetables, a little fresh fruit and eight to ten glasses of water.Amino acid compounds are taken to help with the building of new muscles and melt away fat  I use a compound called Amino Balance that has 19 aminos in it and people feel wonderful immediately when they take it. I also use L-Glutamine that helps with the sugar and carb cravings.  If my clients are having trouble sleeping Tryptophan is added to the list. No alcohol, and absolutely no sodas.
With the aminos, it is not that difficult. 6. This sounds like the typical regime but when hypnosis is added f
or motivation and understanding how food is used (ie for comfort, stress buster, or entertaining) Here is a sample of the script that I use:

Congratulations, you are doing something wonderful for yourself.  You have made a commitment to lose weight and tone up your body.  On the surface, you will look much better, but the benefits go much deeper than losing a couple of dress or pant sizes.  Your entire body will work better.  Many of you will notice that your blood pressure is down, your heart rate beats slower and your aches and pains in your joints are gone! When you start you will be very excited.  You will be in touch with "body buddies" going through the same thing and you will cheer each other on.  I am your coach and I know how to give you this wonderful knowledge, but it is you that has the desire to change.  You are doing the work. So when times get tough, when you are having a bad day and old habits of wanting comfort food creep up on you do this.  Take a deep breathe and think of the fat dripping off that donut working its way down to your beautiful clean arteries. Think of that sugary treat messing up the acids in your stomach and giving you diarrhea.  Know that sugar spikes your blood pressure and makes your mind race and you do not concentrate as well, you do not sleep as well. You have this knowledge and you are able to say no thank you, "I choose not to eat anything that will hurt my body." You will even notice over a period of time that you no longer crave starches, fats and sugars.  Your body is running on clean efficient fuel.  You would not put "sugar in your car's gas tank," and you won't put it in your fuel tank either.  Notice how wonderful you feel when you have walked, worked out, or stretched.  Feel your body sculpting,this is want you want and you are on your way to reaching your goal. No mater how many little slips you have along the way, if you keep working the program, IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FAIL  You and Helen Merrin now know the secret that you can look good at any age-go get your bikini body!

New amino L-Theanine and hypnosis

New amino acid L theanine and hypnosis
Greetings from Doc Judie
In my practice, I do more than just use hypnosis, which is a delivery system. It has to be connected to a therapeutic message. So I use a combination of counseling, hypnosis to deliver the therapy message, and nutritional information on healing the body.  I love amino acid therapy as aminos are natural proteins that make up most of the body mass. Through stress, addictions, depression, and anxiety the body and brain lose many of the vital aminos necessary for normal functions.  Sometimes, a little boost is needed to "teach the mind how to cope and learn to  make dopamine and serotonin, and amino acids are a great aid.  The best news is that because the amino acids are natural to the body, nothing artificial is added to the system.  So when I do an intake on a new client, I look at the mind and body from all angles to see what is needed. Sometimes it is really "all in the head" and sometimes "it is in the body," usually it is both, so why just treat from one angle when all parts need to be addressed.
I am excited about an amino acid called L-Theanine which has been around since China first learned about the calming properties in tea.  L-Theanine is a free form amino acid found in green tea and various mushrooms. It has been shown to increase tranquilizing Alpha waves without inducing drowsiness. Clinical trials show that L-Theanine diminishing symptoms of PMS improving learning performance
  • heightening mental acuity
  • promoting concentration
  • supporting the immune system

    lowering blood pressure increasing formation of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA

    increasing brain dopamine levels among other positive benefits with no known downside.

  • helping in the treatment of cancer

             I recently suggested the use of L-Theanine to a client who was suffering from anxiety attacks and General Anxiety Disorder.  Her blood pressure was up, it was hard for her to drive to my office, and as she told her story, she became agitated and cried throughout the session. By the second session, one week on L-Theanine, her blood pressure was done, she was calm, and was responsive to the hypnotherapy session I will be selling it to my on-line clients very soon.  It is under the name "Tea-Zen "meditation in a bottle" 240 capsules for $45.00.  Let me know if you are interested.  Look on the side bar for a complete list of amino products which should be up by the end of the week.

    Amino Acid Therapy and Hypnosis

    Greetings from Doc Judie

    I hope you missed my blogs as much as I missed writing them for you.  I have been gone from my site for over a month and I have a lot of new information to share with you.  I am working with a new company, Montiff, owned by Don Tyson, the world's leading expert on amino acid formulation.

    For those of you who would like more in depth information on  amino acid therapy, go to montiff.com and click on the tech sheets to see how the aminos work with different parts of the body. You may want to look at a copy of The Amino Revolution by Robert Erdmann...or you can put up with my short version of amino acids and how I use them with hypnosis.

     The amino acids are food suppliments, they are proteins,  the building blocks of life. When people are sick, stressed, suffering from injury, panic attacks, anxiety or depression symptoms,  there is a physical reaction in the body. The metabolic pathways are disturbed, and nutrients cannot be deliered to the cells; when the brain is traumatized, the body suffers, when the body is traumatized, the brain suffers.  They cannot be seperated.

    Amino acids are not drugs  They won't suppress the symptoms of your illness while avoiding the causes  These remarkable powders work solely by strengthening the natural metabolic reactions in your body that help you regain your natural balance.

    I love hypnosis, it is my favorite tool that I use to help people hear a therapeutic message, but there are times when they simply cannot relax, they cannot breathe, and their body has forgotten how to produce any endorphins. They are physically out of balance.  So for extreme cases of trauma, PTSD, and anxiety, amino acid formulas help with the hypnotherapy session. Can't hypnosis on its own merit restore balance in the body? In many cases it does, but it may take several sessions. When someone is in stress why not give the hypnosis which works on the mind, a little help by mending the body naturally.

    The amino acid D-Phenylalanine:   It can help with chronic pain, help the body fight cravings for drugs, or sugar when endorphins are not being manufuctured. D-Phenylalanine aids in the effects of acupuncture treatments by offering more pain relief tha if the needles are used without it.  It can also increase the pain threshold for prolonged periods during dental surgery.

    It has been very effective when treating clients with chronic physial and mental pain during a hypnotherapy session.

    Montiff has a wonderful formula of L-tyrosine, N-Acetyl-Tyrosine which helps boost low levels of catecholamines (feel good chemicals) associated with depression, anxiety, irritability. It is useful for drug and alcohol cravings. So why not ask for a little help from a natural source, I am about helping people on their path to wellness, through hypnosis, talk therapy and amino acid therapy.

    Send me an email if you would like more information on amino acid therapy.

    New Food Suppliments

    New Food Supplements

    Greetings from Doc Judie

    In my practice, I use a holistic approach to presenting problems.  I listen to the client, deliver the message of change through hypnosis, and often suggest body cleansers and amino acid therapy for total balance of the body and the mind. If I suspect an underlying physical condition causing mental distress, my clients are referred to medical experts and in a team effort, I can best serve my clients with their medical and psychological concerns.

     By using natural supplements,  I have witnessed amazing changes in a short period of time.  One of my clients who had a 20 year gambling and drinking habit was finally able to stop his destructive habits.  He attributes his turn around to the hypnotherapy along with the amino acid therapy used for impulse control .

    Another client flew in from another state.  He had been through several clinics for his alcohol dependency. The Pure Body Institute liver cleaner took the bloat out of his belly within three days, and Craig Nutraceuticals, Amino Balance and NeuroLift  (amino compounds) keep the cravings away

    Several women in my weight loss class report losing 20-100 lbs on a special whey protein drink and L-Glutamine.The group members support eachother through exercise and supplements.

     Finally, many of my clients who suffer from thyroid conditions do well with special testing to make sure all three tests on the thyroid panel are completed.  Holistic doctors or DO's understand this.  A supplement which helps with the aging process and delivers the thyroid medicine to the body is 7-Keto DHEA.  If you are interested in DHEA  It burns fat, increases the immune system and enhances the memory.   Make sure to only take 7-Keto as it does not have estrogen connected to it.  (if you are interested, look on the side panel, I have been threatening to update this for months, I finally am getting around to it) hmmmm, just read that statement back, I need more 7-Keto DHEA for my memory!

    Here are some new aminos that I am giving to my clients and using them feed back; so far the results are positive.   You will be happy to know that I try them out first.

    L-theanine (trade name Suntheanine) Controls stress
    This compound is made out of green tea, L-theanine exhibits many positive, physiological effects.  The amino theanine promotes Alpha waves in the brain; an awake, alert and relaxed physical and mental condition without drowsiness.   It is great for relaxation, a feeling of well-being and calms down stress levels.

    Resveratrol
     Resveratrol is an antioxidant found  in red grape skins.  It has anti aging benefits, helps clean out the arteries of your heart, and burns fat.  I am not sure about this one.  I have been trying it for one month and I have lost 5 lbs.  I seem to have a little more energy, but I usually do when the weather warms up and I can walk, swim, and work in my garden.  My clients report good things about it, so if you have comments please share them with me.

    So instead of drinking a gallon of tea or a bottle of wine, get the good nutrients  by taking  L-theanine and Resveratrol.  Remember aminos are supplements, they are not meant to replace good nutrition, exercise or prescribed medications.  Instead, they are "supplements" which can enhance your well being..

    If your Antidepressants don't work, try Amino Acid Therapy

    Judie Brierly - Tuesday, February 16, 2010
    If your antidepressants don't work, try Amino Acid Therapy!

    Greetings from Doc Judie

    There is a great article in the February issue of Newsweek which talks about the nation's debate over Antidepressants. The researcher in the article is Irvin Kirsch, one of my all time favorite heros because he does not take anything for granted.  (I did a follow up thesis on  how hypnosis and cognitive therapy work together for best results based on the original clinical trials by Dr. Kirsch) So when this article came out and I saw his name on it, I payed attention.  His clinical trials suggested that popular antidepressants such as Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Serzone, and Celexa are no more effective than a placebo, "in fact, they may be worse!"   The other side of the article was not a clinical study but  an opinion that stated" only in patients with very severe symptoms was there a clinically meaningful drug benefit."  I tend to agree with both statements, using natural means first and only going to synthetic antidepressants as a last resort.

    Even though I am trained in Health Psychology, if my client reports severe brain injury, excessive drug or alcohol use or if there  is a diagnosis of a Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia, I always refer to a psychicatrist group such as the Amen Clinic (see Amenclinics.com)  With a full brain scan, the team at the Amen Clinics can give me a better picture of what is going on with the client.  Why I chose this top clinic to work with is that they do not always jump toward antidepressants! They use laser imaging to look at the brain and see what is going on before making a diagnosis, instead of the typical "guessing game!"
    Neurotransmitters:
    To understand how all this brain stuff works, look at the beautiful picture of the Neurotransmitters:
    Neurotransmitters are a group of chemicals in the brain that facilitate communication between the cells of the brain called neurons.  The neurons do not touch one another.  At the end of one neuron and the beginning of another is a space called a synapse.  When a message gets to the end of the first neuron, it triggers the release of neurotransmitter chemicals into the synapse.  These neurotransmitters travel across the synapse and touch the beginning part of the next neuron in the chain, and the communications travel down the sequence of cells. (This is where the movie Avatar borrowed from neurology for their communictions with all things in nature)  The presence of a given drug in the brain changes how many neurotransmitters are available to make the journey from one neuron to the next. By changing the levels of a drug in the brain, it will effect how you feel and think. Examples of neurotransmitters that affect mood are the Aminos, Serotonin, Dopamine, and Noradrenaline.

    The amino acids are the proteins that your brain is made out of and there may be damage from the antidepressants, or your brain may have a malfunction and not make enough amino acids. Either way, you may feel a whole lot better by taking aminos that are suited for your condition. According to Julia Ross, who uses amino acid therapy with drug rehabilitation,  Ross states: "With amino acid therapy, the brain uses these nutrients to quickly restore normal brain neurotransmitter levels and raise them higher than before the clients ever abused alcohol or drugs."  People routinely tell Ross they never felt this good." When you brain has the right balance of amino acids, it elevates depression, neurotransmitters are built  up and your message is one of well being and clarity.

    Obviously, when my clients are thinking clearly, they can hear my hypnotherapy message and their progress is dramatic. So if your antidepressants are not working for you, consider amino acid therapy, but make sure you do not go off your antidepressants medication cold turkey, especially if you have been taking it for a long time.  Make sure your practitioner is aware of your desire to try amino acid therapy.  Also do not take amino acids along with antidepressants as you can get a serotonin overload, one at a time.I hope you find your way to a healthy brain.

    Beat Depression in Winter through Exercise and Self-Hypnosis

    Judie Brierly - Tuesday, February 02, 2010
    Beat depression in winter through exercise and self-hypnosis

    Greetings from Doc Judie,

    The subject of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) was addressed in the previous blog and this is a continuation of the subject. I personally do not do well in the winter months.  Even though I live in a solar state, there are many dark cold days where the sun does not shine.  If the sky is cloudy for more than three days straight, people get pretty cranky and I am not the exception.  So this is my routine.  I take my amino acids to fortify my immune system, my favorite blend is one called Amino Balance (see side panel for more information). I take a few minutes when I wake up to do breathing exercises and give myself a positive pep talk from my self-hypnosis script.  The script is something like this: "Even though it is dark and cold outside, I will feel so much better if I go to the water aerobics class.  I can feel the healing waters warming me up.  My muscles feel so much better when I move and  the blood flows through my body, when this happens, I feel energized and warm inside and out.  I will be soaking up 20,000 units of Vitamin D which is so essential for my bones, and the best part is I have so many wonderful friends to laught with in the pool....now get up and move out!"   I then "quickly" put on my swimsuit, jogging gear, winter coat, and run out the door! If I concentrated on my script, I am able to walk two miles to the pool, if not, I at least drive!    I am usually good to go and can't wait to get in the water and have a good workout, but occasionally the old thoughts creep back in and I hope that it is too cold, too windy, too snowy, and the  water aerobics instructor  won't show up!

    No chance!  She is there like clock work, the water natzi always shows up! The minute she cranks up the music from her boom box, she starts barking orders, rounding us up like stray cats..it is time to start " Get in the pool and remember NO WHINING'  "Do you see me bending my elbow?  Are your feet touching the bottom of the pool ? I want that butt jail house tight!"...."Swing your hips like a hula girl, you too mister!' (By the way, she is not training "youngsters" the range is from 45-85, even though a few couples in their 20's pop in...and are surprised that this is really quite a good work-out).

    the instructor pushes her group, but she can't keep  a straight face for long as her comments are so darn funny. . Between songs, recipes are exchanged, diets are always a big topic, current events in the community discussed, and arrangements made for the next birthday.  This is so much more than just pumping water weights in a pool.  That sharp tonged water instructor will be the first on your doorstep with delicious pasta  if you are sick, make the best cake in the world for your birthday, and arrange a monthly get-together. She is passionate, dedicated to her program, and a friend for life for all of us lucky enough to have known for during her 20 year career (yes! she does keep in touch with everyone!)

    I don't know where you live but don't let the winter months stop you from the essentials of life-exercise, connect with people, and find a group where you can be a crazy, laugh, move your body on a ski slope, in a gym, or in the water.  Use deep breathing and self-hypnosis if you need to give yourself a little talk to get going.  Your body will be grateful, you will be surrounded with happy fun people You will learn to love winter!

    Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and Hypnotherapy

    Judie Brierly - Saturday, January 30, 2010
    Seasonal affective disorder

    Did you ever think that lack of sunlight in the winter months can make your grouchy or feel blue? Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a condition in which persons experience depression as a result of seasonal variations in sunlight. It is sometimes referred to as winter depression. A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, the mood, and the thoughts. It affects the manner in which one eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things.

    Symptoms of Depression

    The following are some symptoms of depression:
    (SAD) is a condition in which persons experience depression as a result of seasonal variations in sunlight. It is sometimes referred to as A depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, the mood, and the thoughts. It affects the manner in which one eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things.The following are some symptoms of depression:
    • persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood;
    • feelings of hopelessness and pessimism;
    • feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness;
    • loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed, including sex;
    • decreased energy and fatigue;
    • difficulty concentrating, remembering, and making decisions;
    • insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping;
    • appetite and/or weight loss or overeating and weight gain;
    • thoughts of death or suicide and/or suicide attempts;
    • restlessness and irritability; and
    • persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain.

    I used to think that everything bad would happen to me between November to February, because those were the months when the sun did not shine in my state of Nevada, and I stayed inside. I did not exercise, I was cooped up without sunshine-I had a SAD disorder.

    It can be pretty unbearable, but as far as disorders go, there are some easy remedies that can help immediately.  Even when it is cold and snowy, go outside for a minimum of 15 minutes a day.  Sit by a window with southern exposure when it is gloomy, you will still pick up sunshine.

    It may be difficult to sleep during the winter months.  Your body is used to daylight, and nighttime; not dark all the time.  Supplements such as melatonin and tryptophan are very helpful for many people, I take them in the winter for good sleep.

    So how does hypnotism fit into this regime? It can help motivate you to GO OUTSIDE AND MOVE!  There is another reason to use hypnotherapy with SAD; depression can be devestating, It is important to convience the mind that your winter blues do not have to depress you. You are in control, you can take supplements, get exercise, soak up sunshine for a few minutes a day.  Hypnotherapy works as your coach, motivating you to go to work, take care of yourself, keep up a routine and get out of your winter rut.

    You will get pretty creative on what you can do in the winter to soak up sunshine.  I have a secret weapon that I will share with you in the next blog.  It is the story of an amazing woman  Lynne, the water areobics instructor who has taught this class at a nearby spar for over 20 years!   She does not care if it is freezing, snowing, raining-you better show up and NO WHINING!   Read about the class and how men and women stay in good shape and happy year around.  See you tomorrow.

    Hypnosis and the Aging Process (Act Your Age)

    Judie Brierly - Tuesday, January 26, 2010
    Hypnosis and the Aging Process
    or Act Your Age!

    As you read through my blogs, you will see several topics that you might not connect with hypnosis.  The truth of the matter is, you use self-hypnosis every day to sort through problems balance between the conscious and subconscious parts of your brain without even realizing that is what you are doing.  For instance, when you say, "I will weight the pros and cons of this particular problem and come up with a solution," you are using the conscious part of your brain, the decision maker.  When you say " I don't know how I feel about it, I'll have to sleep on it, my gut is telling me something different from the facts," that is your subconscious, the emotional portion of your brain speaking to you. So how is all of this worthy information related to aging? Well, it is something that happens right before your eyes, even if it does not make sense to you!  You may feel like a 25 year older inside, still flirtatious, excited about trips, new adventures, good music and feel like your can hike all day and party all night!  Oh yeah! That is definitely your imagination, the subconscious talking to you.  The decision maker, the practical conscious may argue back with your feelings stating: "dream on " did you forget that your knees give out, your blood pressure is high, and you have not stayed up past 10:00 pm for 10 years!

    I encourage you to argue with the facts and go for the dream!  You can't change your age, but you can change your opinion about what you can and can't do.  Of course you are not going to dance "all night" but maybe say yes to s cruise, or an old hippie concert and boggie for a couple of hours.  Maybe you can't hike Everest, but a Foothill day trip with extra stops, water and even walking sticks might feel just as good. Remember what it was about you that really turned your partner on....or smile and talk to someone new....you are just older, you are not dead!  So stop acting like life is over.  Take a deep breath, come up with a dream of something that you would really like to do, or if you forgot how to do that, come up with a new dream.  Visualize it, see how good you feel, see a positive outcome and bring it to you.  So are there any hints in here about changing the aging process? No!  There is a subliminal message to change your attitude, concentrate on what you can do, not what you can't do!  Spend a few minutes every day re-inventing yourself, keep life fresh and see what unfolds...here's to your wild dreams and new adventures.  I leave you with a poem from one of my former clients.

    Lord, thou knowest I am growing older
    Keep me from becoming talkative and possessed with the idea that I must express myself on every damm subject.
    Release me from the craving to straighten out everyone's affairs.
    Keep my mind free from the recital of endless detail.  Give me wings to get to the point.
    Seal my lips when I am inclined to tell of my aches and pains.  They are increasing with the years and my love to speak of them grows sweeter as time goes by.
    Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be wrong.  Make me interested but not nosey-helpful but not bossy.
    With my fast store of wisdom and experience it does seem a pity not to use it all.  But thou knowest, dear Lord, that I want a few friends at the end.  Amen.

    Women and Smoking

    Judie Brierly - Thursday, January 21, 2010
    Smoking in Women
    Smoking in women is at an epidemic level.  Smoking is the most preventable cause of early death in this country. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), smoking-related diseases causes the deaths of about 178,000 women in the U.S. each year. On average, these women died 14.5 years earlier than women who do not smoke.

    More than 75% of women say they want to quit smoking. Almost half report having tried to quit in the past year. The chance of quitting and staying quit is about the same for both men and women, although there may be some ways women think differently about smoking.

    Many women are afraid to quit for fear of gaining weight. Some women who quit smoking do add a few pounds, mostly in the first year. The good news is that the weight gain is  not permanent.  Women "feel better" after they quit smoking, they have more lung power; they are able to exercise and develop a taste for healthy foods. ( Taste does change when a person stops smoking, the taste buds are more distinct and it is a good time to experiment with new healthy foods).

    Women do not respond as men to drugs (ie Wellbutrin, Chantrix)  that  curve smoking urges. However,  studies through amino acid research shows that women calm down, their cravings decrease with amino acids such as d-Phenylalanine,l-Tryptophan. and Acetyl l-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid.  There is also a question about how monthly hormone changes can affect pre-menopausal women as they are quitting smoking. Again, The amino acid formulas can  help during all phases of a women's menstrual cycle.(see side panel for more amino acid details).

    Women who are trying to get pregnant, who are pregnant, or who are nursing babies and taking care of small children are not only hurting their health, but the health of the new borns, their infants and their children by the second-hand smoke effect.  Most women are aware of this, they want to quit, and feel guilty when they can't.  That is where hypnosis can be a great aid.

    Hypnosis:By taking natural anti-depressants(aminos) the cravings are controlled physically; mentally, by adding  the suggestions through hypnosis it give a woman the power that she can get through the 20 second cycle of a craving.  She does not obsess about "not quitting" but learns to see a positive outcome of how her face will look so much better with blood circulating through her skin.  She will "see" energy returning, her muscles and beautiful curves developing as she now "feels" like exercising. Her voice is soft, not raspy, and her breathe is clean and fresh.  That is really what a woman wants and she has a plan and a new way of dealing with her positive change. She sees her self as "a non-smoker, some who smoked a long time ago."  The message is repeated through a series sessions where the same positive suggestion is given over and over.  The subconscious mind finally agrees and decides that a change would be a good thing; it is then that smoking becomes a thing of the past, unwanted, useless, and gone!

    During the hypnotherapy sessions, a women also learns a lot about herself, her triggers to stress, and alternative methods of what to do when she feels uptight, overwhelmed or upset. Often there are underlying problems, and smoking is just a temporary fix. Each case is different, but calming down by breathing slowly, drinking a glass of water and breaking the usual routine start the new pattern.  If any of these conditions sound like what you are going through and you would like more information on how to quit for good,email me or give me a call.  I would love to help you.

    John Sullivan - Thursday, January 14, 2010

    Greetings from Doc Judie

    You may be thinking "what a strange title, amino acids and hypnotherapy!" What do they have in common? Isn't it enough to just suggest to someone that they are feeling better and let the mind do the work? My usual answer is "I don't know!" I am always amazed and delighted by what my clients can accomplish through hypnosis, but there are many circumstances where to body and the mind need a little help to even hear the hypnotherapy message. For example, people often come to me looking for a way to fight addictions such as drinking, smoking, or emotional eating;.Some are begging for a good night's sleep, or desperate to ward off depression and anxiety. I often find that taking a specific combination of amino acids restore their metabolic balance within a month. When my clients feel better, their protein metabolism is restored, their endorphin production goes up and their mind is calm. They can now enjoy a more productive session.

    Julia Ross:I first learned about amino acids from Julia Ross, author of The Mood Cure. Julia Ross is a pioneer in the field of nutritional psychology and a specialist in the treatment of eating disorders and addictions. She has founded and directed six successful recovery programs since 1980 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Julia claims an unusually high success rate for people suffering from addictions, (over 80%) compared to most addiction clinics that boast a (30-40% ) referred to as the recidivism rate where clients relapse to a previous condition. So what was Julia Ross doing that was so different from the traditional clinics? She cleaned up her client's diet and added amino acids to her regime. After taking several of her classes and reading her books, I found out more about amino acids from her staff. They recommended only using a true amino acid product that was USP pharmaceutical grade.

    Craig Nutraceuticals,Inc. was the recommended company . The company was formed in 1999 by Dennis and Deborah Craig. The company takes pride in their purity of product . The on going education on new developments in the nutrition field from Deborah is invaluable. (see the side bar for a full list of amino acids, vitamins, and body cleaners that I sell.)

    There are two dozen amino acids in the human body, the most potent healing substances ever discovered. In nature, in a perfect world, in a young healthy body, there are enough amino acids, protein molecules to take care of every life process, but many of my clients are aging or are not in good health, their body and mind are depleted of protein, the building blocks for muscle and brain cell growth. So after screening my clients, and making sure that they check with their doctor before taking amino acids, many clients report that their well being is strongly enhanced and they continue taking amino acids with vitamins long after their hypnotherapy sessions.

    As with anything that is ingested, even though amino acids are generally safe, they are not for everyone. They are not recommended for extreme mood disorders, high blood pressure, or pregnant women. They are not to be taken with anti-depression or anti-anxiety medication. (Often, clients feel much better on the natural mood enhancers in amino acids, instead of the chemically processed substances. With the approval of their medical or psychological doctors,many switch to using only the natural amino acids to combat depression and anxiety.

    I enclosed a list of books that recommend amino acids to achieve optimum health. email me with any questions or share your stories and experiences with amino acids and hypnosis; I would love to hear from you. Contact me here.
